Happy Happy Happy Midsummer / Litha / Summer Solstice!
The summer solstice occurs exactly when the axial tilt of a planet’s semi-axis in a given hemisphere is most inclined towards the star that it orbits. Earth’s maximum axial tilt to our star, the Sun, during a solstice is 23° 26’. This happens twice each year, at which times the Sun reaches its highest position in the sky as seen from the North or South Pole, respectively. - Thanks, Wikipedia!
For thousands & thousands of years, peoples all over the world have welcomed this longest day of light with parties & rituals celebrating light, fire, & warmth, & the natural power that each of those things brings to our lives.
Hope your day is filled with love, light, watermelon, lots of water, & plenty of salt (so you don’t get crabby :)

An incredible gourmet, vegan (animal-product-free) ice cream spot in the East Village, and where I’ll be spending my Friday night bday!
Each delicious flavor contains no refined sugars, gluten, preservatives, nor artificial flavors, and all of the containers and utensils are made from biodegradable (and sustainable) materials. And they encourage taste-testing!
While you’re there, be sure to try their awesome treats from other local food artisans such as Babycakes, ChocAlive, Cocoa V, Conscious Nosh, Fine & Raw, and Nibmor!

Neons, hardware, and muted tones = awesome jewellery
So, it’s been almost exactly a month since I last posted to this lovely space, but I can tell you - it’s with good reason that I’ve been scarce! Things have been super busy, and not just with my daytime work - I’ve been getting back to being creative with my hands, and have combined my love of muted tones with a re-kindled childhood love of hardware stores and neon : )
This is one of the projects that has been keeping me busy - from neon twine, to brass or silver hex nuts (thanks, Phillip Crangi, for the beautiful inspiration, and thank you, Honestly WTF, for the instructions!), to simple butcher’s twine.

Can’t wait to give the silver hex bracelet to my mama for Mother’s Day! If you’re interested in purchasing one (or several), please just send me a message.
